ROAR!!!!

I’m reinstalling OS X on my Mac . Do you know how hard it is to repair a MAJOR problem on a computer with a cranky baby sitting on your lap drooling in the keyboard? Not to mention typing with one hand. The whole thing with my Mac started a week ago when I downloaded the latest software updates. After download I rebooted my computer. It started up and just kinda…hung there. It hung there for three days. I finally got around to calling someone about it today. We tried repairing the permissions, but that didn’t seem to work. Then he told me to do an archive and install. Yeah, well that was going to take 1.6 GB that I don’t have on that drive (I was in the process of cleaning it up when I did the update and hosed it). So now I’m installing the OS on the OTHER hard drive. Hopefully that will work. What a huge pain!!

Adri went back to sleep for a while. She woke up early this morning, and woke up from both naps early today, so she definitely needed more sleep. I’ve been doing a lot of “research” on the internet about her development. She was born two weeks early, so technically just just now 5 months old instead of 5 months and two weeks. She rolled over from front to back about four weeks ago…maybe three. It was really funny too–she just wouldn’t stop! Every time we put her on her tummy, she’d immediately flip over on her back. She hasn’t done it since. Well, she HAS, but only with a little coaxing from Ben or me. I’ve also been concerned because she isn’t pushing herself up on her hands/arms yet. I’m trying not to listen to what other people have said to me (i.e. “Oh my baby was doing that at 2 1/2 weeks!” kind of a thing…). I mean, she’s holding her head and shoulders off the ground very well and can do it with or without the support of her arms. Maybe I’m just freaking out over nothing. I just read an article that says that the “mini push-ups” they’re talking about are when they support their weight with their forearms/elbows. If that’s the case, then she’s been doing that for a month. Oy vey… I guess I should just keep doing what I’m doing and she’ll progress when she’s ready.

I’m also doing research on the South Beach Diet. My new RE (Reproductive Endocrinologist) suggested it (he’s on it too). I know I’m going to have to make some changes with this PCOS…I’m just having a pitty party about it at the moment. Actually, I’m not having a pitty party about the WHOLE thing…just the two introductory weeks of no carbs. What the heck am I’m going to cook?!?!?!?!? I guess it’s not THAT bad. I’m just afraid of constantly being hungry…which I am now anyway, so what could get worse? I fill up on veggies and protein…how bad can that be?

Okay. I’m off to see how my OS X install went on the second hard drive.
